MYTHIC EARTH COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

1. PURPOSE OF THESE GUIDELINES
The Mythic Earth community is intended to be a welcoming place where players, followers, testers, creators and developers can discuss the game, share ideas, report problems and participate in its development.
These Community Guidelines explain the conduct expected in official Mythic Earth community spaces.
They are designed to:
• protect community members from abuse and exploitation;
• support constructive discussion;
• help users understand what is and is not acceptable;
• protect private, confidential and restricted information;
• give staff a consistent basis for moderation; and
• allow disagreements and criticism without permitting harassment or disruption.
These Guidelines should be read together with:
• the Mythic Earth Terms of Service;
• the Mythic Earth Privacy Policy;
• the Issue Council Rules;
• applicable event, creator, testing or competition rules; and
• any additional rules displayed for a particular community feature.
2. WHERE THESE GUIDELINES APPLY
These Guidelines apply to participation in official Mythic Earth community spaces, including:
• public user profiles;
• the future Mythic Earth Community Hub;
• Issue Council discussions;
• support requests and official staff-user conversations;
• official Mythic Earth Discord servers;
• official events and community activities;
• creator-content submissions;
• comments, replies and reactions;
• testing and feedback communities;
• future messaging, groups or guild features; and
• other interactive services operated or officially managed by Mythic Earth.
These Guidelines may also apply to conduct outside an official Mythic Earth space where that conduct:
• targets or seriously harms members of the Mythic Earth community;
• threatens the safety of users or staff;
• involves disclosure of confidential Mythic Earth information;
• attempts to evade Mythic Earth enforcement;
• impersonates Mythic Earth or its staff; or
• creates a substantial risk to the community or service.
Mythic Earth does not claim control over every private disagreement or activity on the internet. Off-platform conduct will only be considered where there is a meaningful connection to Mythic Earth, its users, its staff or its services.
3. ACCEPTANCE AND PARTICIPATION
Public community content may generally be read without accepting these Guidelines.
A registered user may be required to accept the current applicable version before they can:
• create a community post;
• reply or comment;
• react to or vote on community content;
• submit creator content;
• participate in an applicable event;
• upload community-facing material;
• use future community messaging or group features; or
• otherwise interact with the Mythic Earth community.
The website records the version accepted by the user and the date and time of acceptance.
When a materially revised version is published and marked as requiring reacceptance, affected users may continue reading public content but may be prevented from further participation until they accept the new version.
Issue Council participation may also require separate acceptance of the current Issue Council Rules.
4. RESPECTFUL PARTICIPATION
Community members may disagree, criticise ideas and debate decisions.
Disagreement must remain directed at the subject being discussed rather than becoming personal abuse.
Users must not:
• harass, threaten or intimidate another person;
• repeatedly target someone after being asked to stop;
• encourage others to attack, shame or isolate someone;
• use degrading personal insults;
• celebrate or encourage serious harm;
• deliberately disrupt conversations;
• follow someone across discussions to provoke them;
• use alternate accounts to continue unwanted contact; or
• organise coordinated harassment.
Firm criticism of Mythic Earth, its development decisions or its staff is allowed.
Abuse, threats and personal harassment are not.
5. HATEFUL AND DISCRIMINATORY CONDUCT
Users must not attack, dehumanise, threaten or promote hatred against a person or group based on characteristics such as:
• race;
• ethnicity;
• nationality;
• religion;
• sex;
• gender;
• gender identity;
• sexual orientation;
• disability;
• serious medical condition;
• age; or
• another protected or comparable personal characteristic.
Prohibited conduct includes:
• slurs used to attack or degrade;
• claims that a protected group is inherently inferior;
• calls for exclusion, segregation or violence;
• praise for persecution or genocide;
• hateful symbols used to intimidate or endorse hatred; and
• disguised or coded language used to avoid enforcement.
Historical, educational, artistic or contextual discussion may be permitted where it is not being used to promote hatred or target users.
6. THREATS, VIOLENCE AND DANGEROUS CONDUCT
Users must not:
• make credible threats of violence;
• encourage violence against a person or group;
• share private information to enable harm;
• glorify or promote terrorism;
• recruit for violent extremist activity;
• encourage serious criminal activity;
• provide instructions intended to facilitate immediate serious harm; or
• use Mythic Earth services to coordinate dangerous conduct.
Fictional discussion of violence within Mythic Earth’s setting is permitted when it is clearly about the game, story, history or creative work and is not being used to threaten real people.
Credible threats may be reported to relevant authorities.
7. CHILD SAFETY
Mythic Earth has zero tolerance for the sexual exploitation or endangerment of children.
Users must not:
• sexualise minors;
• request, share or threaten to share child sexual abuse material;
• groom or attempt to exploit a minor;
• encourage a minor to provide sexual or intimate content;
• arrange exploitative contact with a minor;
• expose minors to predatory conduct; or
• use Mythic Earth services to facilitate child abuse.
Content or conduct that may involve child exploitation may be preserved and reported to the appropriate authorities.
Users should immediately report suspected child-safety concerns through Contact Support or another available reporting process.
8. SEXUAL CONTENT AND EXPLOITATION
Users must not post or distribute:
• pornography;
• explicit sexual material;
• non-consensual intimate content;
• sexual threats;
• exploitative sexual content;
• content involving sexual violence presented for gratification;
• sexual content involving minors or persons presented as minors; or
• links intended to direct users to prohibited sexual material.
Romantic, historical, artistic or mature discussion may be permitted where it remains appropriate to the relevant space and does not become explicit, exploitative or harassing.
9. PERSONAL INFORMATION AND PRIVACY
Users must respect the privacy of others.
Users must not publish or threaten to publish another person’s private information without permission, including:
• home address;
• private telephone number;
• personal email address;
• private financial information;
• government identification;
• account credentials;
• exact live location;
• private medical information;
• private photographs or recordings;
• private conversations where disclosure would be harmful or unlawful; or
• information intended to enable harassment or physical harm.
This includes doxxing, attempted doxxing and encouraging others to locate or expose someone.
Users should not post their own passwords, recovery links, authentication codes or other sensitive credentials.
Mythic Earth staff will never need a user’s password.
10. IMPERSONATION AND MISLEADING IDENTITY
Users must not impersonate:
• another user;
• a Mythic Earth employee or contractor;
• a moderator, administrator or developer;
• a public figure;
• a company or organisation; or
• an official Mythic Earth account or service.
Parody or roleplay may be allowed where it is clearly labelled and unlikely to mislead.
Users must not use names, avatars, badges or profile text to falsely imply:
• staff authority;
• official endorsement;
• access to confidential information;
• ownership of another person’s work; or
• a relationship with Mythic Earth that does not exist.
Mythic Earth may change or remove misleading usernames, display names, avatars or profile material.
11. SPAM, SCAMS AND MANIPULATION
Users must not:
• send repeated unwanted messages;
• flood discussions;
• post irrelevant advertising;
• run scams or fraudulent schemes;
• promote pyramid or deceptive investment schemes;
• distribute phishing links;
• request passwords or authentication information;
• use bots or multiple accounts to manipulate engagement;
• artificially inflate reactions, confirmations or votes;
• coordinate false reporting campaigns;
• post repetitive referral links; or
• use community features primarily for unsolicited commercial promotion.
Limited promotion may be allowed in designated creator or community areas where it follows the rules of that area.
12. MALICIOUS SOFTWARE AND TECHNICAL ABUSE
Users must not distribute or promote:
• malware;
• ransomware;
• credential-stealing software;
• malicious scripts;
• destructive files;
• phishing pages;
• unauthorised surveillance tools; or
• links intended to compromise accounts or devices.
Users must not use community services to:
• probe private website systems;
• evade security controls;
• overload services;
• interfere with databases or queues;
• scrape restricted information;
• abuse API or rate limits;
• bypass permissions; or
• gain unauthorised access to accounts, builds or internal systems.
Responsible security reports should be submitted privately through Contact Support rather than posted publicly.
13. CHEATING, EXPLOITS AND GAME INTEGRITY
Users must not use Mythic Earth community services to distribute, sell or coordinate:
• cheats;
• unauthorised automation;
• account theft;
• malicious exploits;
• methods for bypassing entitlement controls;
• modified clients intended to create an unfair advantage;
• stolen game builds; or
• tools intended to disrupt other players or services.
Users may privately report bugs, exploits or security problems through the appropriate Issue Council or support channel.
Discussion of an exploit for the purpose of reporting, fixing or safely understanding it may be permitted. Publishing instructions that materially increase abuse may be restricted or removed.
14. CONFIDENTIAL AND RESTRICTED INFORMATION
Users with access to private testing, staff-only, invite-only, NDA or restricted material must protect that information.
Users must not disclose:
• private build links;
• confidential screenshots or video;
• restricted Patch Notes;
• private roadmap material;
• staff-only discussions;
• private Issue Council reports;
• private user evidence;
• embargoed announcements;
• unreleased assets;
• access credentials; or
• information covered by a testing, confidentiality or nondisclosure agreement.
Access to restricted information does not grant permission to republish it.
Confidentiality obligations may continue after access is removed.
15. CREATOR CONTENT
Creator participation may include:
• videos;
• streams;
• screenshots;
• fan art;
• written articles;
• guides;
• mods where permitted;
• podcasts;
• community showcases; and
• other creative works.
Creators must:
• identify unofficial content accurately;
• avoid falsely implying endorsement;
• respect copyright and other rights;
• disclose sponsorships or commercial relationships where required;
• avoid misleading edited material;
• follow embargoes and confidentiality rules;
• avoid harassment or exploitation; and
• follow any specific Creator Content Rules.
Mythic Earth may decline, remove or stop featuring creator content at its discretion, subject to applicable law and any written agreement.
Being featured does not make a creator an employee, representative or official spokesperson.
16. COMMUNITY EVENTS
Community events may include:
• tournaments;
• playtests;
• competitions;
• livestreams;
• meetups;
• community challenges;
• conventions; and
• creator activities.
Participants must follow:
• these Community Guidelines;
• event-specific rules;
• venue or platform rules;
• staff directions reasonably related to safety and organisation; and
• applicable law.
Users must not:
• cheat;
• sabotage an event;
• harass participants;
• interfere with staff;
• falsify eligibility;
• manipulate results;
• impersonate competitors;
• disclose restricted event information; or
• create unsafe conditions.
Separate eligibility, prize, travel, age or participation terms may apply.
17. PUBLIC PROFILES
Profile content must comply with these Guidelines.
Users must not use profiles to display:
• abusive or hateful material;
• explicit sexual content;
• private information;
• malicious links;
• scams;
• impersonation;
• prohibited advertising;
• extremist recruitment;
• threats; or
• material that infringes another person’s rights.
Profile visibility controls do not protect content from moderation.
Public profile information may be viewed, reported or retained as required to operate and protect the service.
18. ISSUE COUNCIL CONDUCT
Issue Council participants must follow both these Community Guidelines and the separate Issue Council Rules.
Community conduct requirements still apply when discussing:
• bug reports;
• technical problems;
• feature requests;
• build quality;
• developer responses;
• report status;
• duplicate decisions; and
• resolution outcomes.
Users may criticise a bug, decision or implementation.
They must not use the Issue Council to:
• attack reporters;
• abuse developers;
• pressure staff through threats;
• organise harassment;
• publish private evidence;
• manipulate confirmations;
• spam duplicate reports; or
• derail technical discussions.
Specialised reporting requirements, including reproduction steps, build selection and duplicate handling, are covered by the Issue Council Rules.
19. SUPPORT AND OFFICIAL CONVERSATIONS
Users must communicate respectfully with support staff, moderators, administrators and other authorised personnel.
Users must not:
• threaten or abuse staff;
• submit knowingly false claims;
• repeatedly submit the same request;
• use support to evade enforcement;
• demand another user’s private information;
• disclose passwords or recovery secrets;
• impersonate another account holder; or
• interfere with an active investigation.
Staff may:
• assign or reassign requests;
• request additional information;
• add internal notes;
• prioritise requests;
• merge related matters;
• close abusive or duplicate requests; and
• retain records where required for legal, security, moderation or operational purposes.
Disagreement with a decision does not justify abuse.
20. REPORTING CONCERNS
Users should report conduct that may violate these Guidelines through the most appropriate available method, such as:
• Contact Support;
• an Issue Council reporting function;
• a content-reporting control;
• an event moderator;
• an official Discord moderation process; or
• another published Mythic Earth reporting route.
Reports should be made in good faith.
Users must not:
• knowingly submit false reports;
• coordinate mass-reporting campaigns;
• report someone merely because of a disagreement;
• alter evidence deceptively;
• impersonate the affected person; or
• use reporting tools to harass others.
Mythic Earth may not disclose the full outcome of an investigation where doing so would compromise privacy, safety, security or legal obligations.
21. MODERATION ACTIONS
Where Mythic Earth reasonably believes these Guidelines or related rules have been violated, it may take proportionate action.
Actions may include:
• informal guidance;
• content editing;
• content removal;
• a warning;
• discussion locking;
• loss of posting or commenting privileges;
• Issue Council restriction;
• event removal;
• creator-feature removal;
• removal from testing;
• session revocation;
• mandatory password reset;
• temporary suspension;
• account deactivation;
• permanent ban;
• reporting to a platform provider;
• reporting to law enforcement or another authority; or
• another action reasonably necessary to protect users and services.
Moderation action may apply to:
• a specific post;
• a particular feature;
• an official community space;
• the website account;
• a testing entitlement; or
• all Mythic Earth services where necessary.
22. HOW MODERATION DECISIONS ARE MADE
Relevant factors may include:
• severity;
• context;
• intent;
• actual or likely harm;
• whether the conduct was repeated;
• prior warnings or restrictions;
• attempts to evade enforcement;
• cooperation;
• age and vulnerability of affected users;
• risk to community safety;
• risk to account or service security;
• confidentiality obligations;
• legal requirements; and
• evidence available to staff.
Not every violation receives the same outcome.
Mythic Earth may act urgently and without prior warning where reasonably necessary to address:
• credible threats;
• child-safety risks;
• account compromise;
• malicious software;
• serious privacy violations;
• unlawful conduct;
• service disruption;
• confidential-data exposure; or
• another immediate risk.
23. WARNINGS
A warning informs a user that conduct has violated or is likely to violate applicable rules.
A warning may include:
• the conduct involved;
• the rule or expectation;
• required corrective action;
• consequences of repeated behaviour; and
• available review options.
A warning is not necessarily a formal admission of unlawful conduct.
Repeated warnings may result in stronger action.
24. RESTRICTIONS
A restriction limits access to a specific feature while leaving other account functions available.
Restrictions may include:
• Issue Council restriction;
• comment restriction;
• event restriction;
• creator-submission restriction;
• messaging restriction;
• testing-access restriction; or
• another feature-specific limitation.
A restriction may be temporary or indefinite.
Attempting to evade a restriction through another account may result in account-wide action.
25. SUSPENSIONS
A suspension temporarily prevents access to some or all account services.
A suspension may be imposed because of:
• serious misconduct;
• repeated violations;
• unresolved security concerns;
• suspected account compromise;
• investigation of harmful conduct;
• enforcement evasion; or
• another substantial risk.
Where appropriate, the user may be told:
• the reason;
• the duration;
• any required action;
• whether access will return automatically; and
• whether an appeal is available.
26. BANS
A ban permanently or indefinitely prevents the account from accessing Mythic Earth services.
A ban may be used for:
• severe abuse;
• serious threats;
• child exploitation;
• malicious attacks;
• account theft;
• repeated enforcement evasion;
• fraud;
• disclosure of highly sensitive information;
• repeated serious violations; or
• conduct presenting an unacceptable ongoing risk.
A banned user must not create or use another account to evade the ban without written authorisation.
27. APPEALS
Suspended or banned users may have access to a controlled appeal process.
An appeal should explain:
• why the decision may have been incorrect;
• what relevant context was missed;
• what evidence should be reviewed;
• whether the account may have been compromised; and
• what has changed since the enforcement action.
An appeal must not contain:
• threats;
• abuse;
• fabricated evidence;
• repeated duplicate submissions;
• another person’s private information without justification; or
• attempts to manipulate staff.
Submitting an appeal does not automatically reverse or pause the original action.
An appeal may be:
• granted;
• declined;
• closed;
• returned for more information; or
• rejected where it is abusive, duplicate or outside the appeal process.
A granted appeal does not automatically restore an account unless the authorised account-status action is also completed.
28. ENFORCEMENT EVASION
Users must not attempt to evade moderation by:
• creating another account;
• using another person’s account;
• changing identity information;
• rejoining through another platform account;
• using technical methods to bypass restrictions;
• asking another person to post on their behalf; or
• concealing continued participation.
Enforcement evasion may result in:
• extension of the original action;
• restriction of related accounts;
• removal from testing or events;
• permanent ban; or
• additional security investigation.
29. STAFF CONDUCT AND ACCOUNTABILITY
Mythic Earth staff and moderators are also expected to act professionally.
Staff should:
• use permissions only for authorised duties;
• protect private information;
• avoid conflicts of interest;
• record important actions;
• distinguish public responses from internal notes;
• use proportionate enforcement;
• avoid retaliation;
• escalate serious matters appropriately; and
• follow Staff Portal audit and security requirements.
Staff status does not permit harassment, threats, exploitation or misuse of private information.
Concerns about staff conduct may be submitted through Contact Support or another designated review process.
30. AUTOMATION AND HUMAN REVIEW
Mythic Earth may use automated tools to assist with:
• spam detection;
• rate limiting;
• account security;
• content filtering;
• duplicate detection;
• abuse prevention; and
• operational prioritisation.
Where a significant enforcement decision is based on automated information, Mythic Earth should provide appropriate human review where reasonably available and legally required.
Automated systems should support moderation rather than create unaccountable punishment.
31. CHANGES TO THESE GUIDELINES
These Community Guidelines are version controlled.
A new version may include:
• a new version number;
• publication and effective dates;
• a summary of changes;
• an indication of whether reacceptance is required; and
• an archived copy of the previous version.
Material changes may require users to accept the new version before continuing to participate in affected community features.
Previous versions may remain available through the legal-document archive.

Serious safety, privacy or security concerns should be reported privately rather than posted in a public discussion.
