Confirmations, duplicates and canonical reports
A confirmation records the same experienced problem; duplicate reports point to one canonical investigation.
A confirmation means that another user believes they experienced the same issue described in the report. It is not a binding popularity vote and does not guarantee priority or a fix.
A report may be marked Duplicate when another report already represents the same underlying issue. The duplicate remains useful history but further investigation normally continues on the canonical report.
Similar symptoms can remain separate when the affected build, reproduction path or suspected cause is meaningfully different. You may remove your own confirmation when you later believe the issue was not the same.
